Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations, this position ensures the successful operation of assigned sites to include program quality, program promotion, budget monitoring, personnel supervision and community relations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead assigned sites and take responsibility for the successful operation of school age and camping programs, including observing, coaching, and supervising program site leaders.
- Coach and supervise Site Directors and Group Leaders in areas including, but not limited to:
- planning and implementation of the program
- providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum.

- Has established emergency procedures that meet or exceed all safety and licensing standards and that these procedures are followed.

- Takes an active role in planning program promotion and publicity.
- Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, and parent groups.
- Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner, seeking guidance from the supervisor as needed.
- Evaluate sites in areas including, but not limited to proper implementation of curriculum and lesson planning, program quality control, and recruitment and retention of program participants.
- Assure compliance with state and local regulations.
- Monitors and develops the annual budget for assigned sites so that goals are met.
- Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
- Model superior communication and leadership to their team.
- Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign at assigned school sites.
- Attends and participates in assigned staff meetings and special events to provide a collaborative and cohesive approach to the YMCA’s vision and mission.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by and agreed to with the supervisor to meet the changing needs of the program.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field or an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training, and/or education.
Skills/Experience:
- Three or more years of YMCA childcare experience preferred.
- Meets minimum qualifications for childcare director as outlined in the Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas Department of Human Services standards for childcare.
- Knowledge of childcare licensing requirements, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas Department of Human Services standards for childcare, and YMCA standards.
- Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record that meetsYMCA standards.

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
