The Human Resources team is searching for a Human Resources Associate to work in our New York office.  The successful candidate has proven experience coordinating HR initiatives from the ground level up, serving to provide both project and day-to-day support to the HR Operations team. The HR Associate will serve as a solutions-oriented point person for the organization on HR platforms and processes, partnering with staff as needed to ensure continued efficiency and effectiveness of our HR systems.

The position jointly reports to the Human Resources Compensation and Operations Managers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide day-to-day HR operations support, including troubleshooting and serving as the escalation point for process and systems issues.
  • Serve as the first line of service for the various HR Systems utilized (Paylocity, iCIMS, Trakstar, Kronos, and several in-house platforms).
  • Assist in the process of defining system problems, framing potential solutions, and creating efficiencies.
  • Support development, maintenance, and delivery of curriculum to support internal technology training and change management.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues to understand business needs, and develop tools to create efficiency, and partner with cross-functional teams to help troubleshoot and remedy system issues.
  • Participate in projects that require independent judgement and deductive reasoning.  The application of these skills in business process analysis, requirements definition, testing, documentation, training, user adoption and change management.
  • Work closely with the Compensation Manager in support of institutional compensation philosophy and process review, and with the Operations Manager in support of the development and implementation of new HR systems and processes.
  • Support the annual compensation increase and promotion review process.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by performing regular maintenance and system audits.
  • Participate in system updates and enhancement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree (focus on Human Resources Management preferred)
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of general HR operations experience, with 1-3 years of it focused on HR Technology/Systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
  • Experience with any of the adopted technologies and HR systems listed above (i.e. Paylocity, iCIMS, Trakstar) preferred
  • Experience in the non-for-profit sector a plus

Professional Skills

  • Understanding of HR concepts and processes (LOA, Recruitment, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Access databases and the ability to refine and leverage existing databases to support the compensation process.
  • A proactive ability to organize and prioritize with limited (and sometimes conflicting) guidance, ensuring projects are kept on track, and deadlines are met consistently
  • Ability to generate solutions, client service-oriented with an emphasis on creativity and diligence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Solid deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills, with the ability to convert issues into practical solutions
  • Demonstrated clear and concise communications skills; ability to communicate complex information and details effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as communicate sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment; comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • A solution-oriented mindset with a positive and collaborative attitude; ability to work independently and as member of a team
  • A strong orientation toward integrity and teamwork; experience working in a matrixed role with multiple reporting relationships preferred
