NRDC is seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative and day-to-day operations support for the California Advocacy and Partner Engagement teams in the Center for Policy Advocacy department in its San Francisco, CA office.  This is a heavily administrative level role.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Scheduling and facilitating internal and external meetings, managing and resolving schedule conflicts
  • Managing calendar appointments and meetings
  • Coordinating travel arrangements
  • Processing invoices and business expenses in a timely manner
  • Accounting and budget management
  • Ensuring communication, collaboration, and information-sharing within the team and the department and with other institutional partners
  • Drafting, editing, formatting, and proofreading internal memorandum and legal documents
  • Providing research and writing support
  • Providing general operational support and performing ad hoc projects for the California Advocacy and Partner Engagement teams as needed
  • Manage lobbying activity timesheets and submission of quarterly reports to the State of California. Assist with lobbying compliance.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum two years administrative experience
  • Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases, and experience with accounting, budgeting and/or finance preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Superior personal organization, time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and prioritize
  • Good judgment; follows instruction well; can-do attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Social media skills a plus
