Performs general day-to-day accounting functions for the organization and ensures compliance with the company’s fiscal policies and procedures.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assists in month-end close activities including but not limited to review and analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Performs daily cash management activities, recording both online banking transactions and manual cash receipt deposits.
  • Prepares monthly bank and account reconciliations.
  • Assists with budget and forecast activities.
  • Assists in the timely completion of regulatory filings as assigned (State Informational Tax Returns, Sales and Use Tax Returns, Unclaimed Property Filings, 1099-Misc Filings, W2-G Filings and other state and federal filings).
  • Assists in the preparation of interim and year-end audit working papers as assigned.
  • Supports the Accounting Manager and the Director of Accounting with adhoc projects, workflow processes improvements and other related duties as necessary.
  • Interfaces with internal and outside agencies as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Skills/Experience: 

 Experience Requirements: 

  • 3 years related experience

Position Requirements: 

  • Financial accounting software knowledge, ideally NetSuite
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite, Excel proficient (VLookups and Pivot tables)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
