Great Kids, Inc., a nonprofit that creates early childhood education curricula and training for home visiting programs, is looking for its next great CEO.

Areas of Responsibility: 

GK is looking for its next great CEO. Under the supervision of the GK Board of Directors, this position is responsible for setting the strategic vision and ensuring the overall success of the organization. The next CEO will provide strategic leadership to the GK Leadership Team and manage progress toward GK strategic goals. This includes oversight of business development, human resources and staff development, administrative functioning, management of the production and distribution of quality GK products and services, and strong partner relationships.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Leads the GK Leadership Team in overseeing business management, planning for business and product development, and forming strategic business alliances.

2. Oversees planning for development and marketing of GK products and services; develops GK Strategic Plans and the goals/objectives for the Annual Business Plan.

3. Serves as the principal employee of GK and primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the GK staff. The CEO is a full voting member of the Board of Directors, is accountable to the Board of Directors, and communicates primarily with the Executive Committee.

4. Works with the GK Leadership team to draft GK’s Annual Business Plan and Budget to present to the Board of Directors.

5. Provides organizational leadership pertaining to fiscal integrity, organizational development, public relations, and staff/contractor relationships and communications. Develops and maintains alliances with strategic business partners.

6. Ensures that GK’s standards for excellence across all product lines and services are consistently maintained and there are plans in place for continuous quality improvement and data-driven decision-making.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field strongly preferred
Skills/Experience: 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• At least 10 years of executive leadership experience working in a for-profit company or non-profit organization operating at a national level.

• Significant work experience in executive leadership with a focus on strategic financial management, developing and sustaining high-level partnerships, identifying key areas for market research, analyzing comprehensive market research data, driving revenue generation, and implementing growth strategies.

• Executive leadership experience in leading and motivating a predominantly remote team.

• Experience managing transitions; expertise in change management practices that propel businesses and organizations.

• A history of expanding products into new markets and developing strategic partnerships, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

• Strong interest in and commitment to community issues, particularly those related to early childhood development, education, or social services.

• Experience working with a board of directors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Demonstrated ability to set and execute a strategic vision for the organization.

2. A strong people manager who values relationships and is comfortable communicating changes.

3. Skilled in evaluating organizational chart and skills matrix to maximize talent and strategically grow the team.

4. Expertise in coaching individual employees to enhance performance and achieve GK’s outcomes.

5. Capable of providing leadership, evaluating and analyzing programs and products, setting goals and objectives for area of responsibility, making difficult decisions, communicating rationale, and building consensus.

6. Able to travel nationally and internationally, as required, to build GK strategic alliances and partner base.

Compensation/Benefits: 

A salary of $142,550, with a comprehensive benefits package.
