The Greater Green Bay YMCA has been offering dynamic, safe, and mission-driven programs for children, teens, families and groups since 1937. Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, “Place of Friends” is our year-round recreational and educational center located 65 miles north of Green Bay in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest on the shores of Chute Pond. Camp Wabansi is our traditional (and super fun!) summer day camp located on the beautiful Door County peninsula in northeastern Wisconsin, featuring 35 wooded acres and a beach on the bay of Green Bay.

We are seeking a Program and Marketing Director to work hand-in-hand with our Camping Services Executive in providing leadership at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya and Camp Wabansi. The Program Director has a direct impact on fostering an environment and culture that supports our mission, values and guiding principles while growing enrollment across YMCA camping services. You will plan, direct, and oversee camping services to deliver high quality, innovative programming that keeps participants coming and enjoying high-quality camp, trip and weekend experiences.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and implement programs that keep participants and families coming back as they build values and lasting friendships and memories.
  • Achieve enrollment and financial goals through high-quality, innovative programming and exceptional camper experiences consistent with the vision, values, and program goals of the YMCA.
  • Maintain safety and program quality standards, coordinate documentation and facilitate accreditation processes through the American Camp Association and State of Wisconsin.
  • Provide leadership to the Summer Camp Directors, build and develop program staff teams, while empowering all Camp staff to achieve goals and deliver a quality camping experience 
  • Establish an interactive, fun, online presence to attract and engage program participation.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining an innovative digital media marketing plan and materials for camp and Outdoor Environmental Education programs. 
Educational Background: 
A 4-year degree in a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Passion for the Y's mission and the desire to spread the camping spirit through generations of camp visitors is essential.
  • Must be at least 25 years old according to ACA requirements. 
  • At least 3 years of experience directing summer resident camping and/or youth programs are required; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least 2 years of relevant supervisory experience in the camping or education field is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Outlook are required. A background in website management, social media and graphic design is preferred.
  • Must be flexible to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends and holiday coverage (ex: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day).
  • You will need to move about camp freely and drive between camps and other Y locations, and interact and participate in programming. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds with or without assistance, and meet the physical requirements as defined under the high-ropes certification standards. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00
