Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the School Age Childcare and Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing the development and operations of our 7 Licensed School Age Childcare sites and Summer Day Camp.  This full-time position will supervise full-time coordinators, part-time staff and seasonal camp counselors.  The School Age Childcare/Camp Director is required to complete annual Keystone STARS training and comply with the branch's STAR level requirements.  This position will provide staff leadership and supervision and enhance youth development in the School Age Childcare and Summer Day Camp programs.  This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all Department of Human Services regulations, curriculum design and budget management.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Effectively communicates the mission, vision and values of the YMCA.
  • Supports the development and over sight of departmental budgets.
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, program evaluation and on-going staff training.
  • Ensures the Y mission and character development values are incorporated into programs.
  • Ensures overall growth of designated programs, specifically, Camp Lenni Lenape and the School Age Childcare sites.
  • Provides front line leadership for Camp Lenni Lenape and supervision of staff and program activities.
  • Recruits, trains and manages direct reports.  Supports direct reports in recruitment, training and management of department staff.
  • Knowledgeable with all risk management procedures and policies and helps implement branch compliance.  
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with School District personnel, staff, participants and parents.
  • Other duties, as necessary.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree in Education or Education related field or Human Services, required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of direct supervisory experience required.  Experience in childcare administration, summer camp or child/youth programming, preferred.  Experience working with Keystone STARS and progressing through the Keystone STARS levels preferred.  Other qualifications include strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
