The Chief Executive Officer of the Eau Claire YMCA will report directly to the Board of Directors. The CEO is responsible for implementing the long term strategic plan of the Eau Claire YMCA with significant involvement of the staff and board. The CEO must have strong fiscal management experience and a successful background working with external partners. A Cause Driven leader with significant competencies in: Advancing our Mission and Cause, Building Relationships, Leading Operations and Developing and Inspiring People will be critical. The CEO will play a significant role in capital fundraising for a new facility partnership being developed with local university and health care partner. This is a tremendous opportunity for a visionary leader with a strong background in fund development, operational expertise and staff and volunteer leadership development.
The board believes its new CEO should be an experienced leader who has the background and qualities that will permit him or her to achieve excellence in the following roles:
- Fiscally Sound Business Management: Partner with the finance director to effectively oversee and manage the budget through revenue growth and expense management to support day to day operations. The ability to develop new programming, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the community we serve.
- Advocating the YMCA Vision Within the Community and Collaborating with the Partners (Mayo Health Systems and University Wisconsin Eau Claire) in a New Facility: Ability to create and convey a clear vision of the future Y facility and how it will interact with its partners.
- Fundraising and Strategic Plan Execution: Ability to develop and implement Capital fundraising strategies with the partners for the new facility while maintaining an annual campaign and securing of grants. CEO will work with local University and Health Care partners in a multimillion dollar collective capital campaign for a new shared facility. Ability to execute and update strategic plan.
- Build and Manage the Staff Team: The ability to hire, motivate, nurture and retain staff. The ability to create a plan to ensure that the YMCA has an outstanding, dedicated and collaborative team. Skills to evaluate current strengths and weaknesses of all key staff and create a plan for individual development and progression.
Minimum Candidate Criteria:
- Minimum of 7 years prior experience in senior management role with the YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff.
- Proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $3,000,000.
Preferred Candidate Criteria:
- YMCA Organizational Leader Certification (Note: Candidates not already in possession of this certification have up to three years to obtain via YMCA of the USA).
- Must have demonstrated the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
- Experience planning, developing, and operating a new facility.
- Fundraising experience including capital campaigns, annual campaigns, and securing grants.
- Seeking a candidate who can take the current YMCA to the next level, as we develop the plan and partnership for a new facility in collaboration with Mayo Health Systems and the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
- Individual who is an accomplished visionary with a distinguished track record in operational excellence, team leadership and fund development to play a critical role in community impact.
Salary: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
