The Edwardsville YMCA is searching for a dynamic professional to lead one of our successful facilities as a Branch Director.  The Branch Director will manage daily operations for the YMCA facility and provide quality leadership to program directors in the development and execution of new and existing programs in multiple program scopes that reflect the YMCA mission of building healthy spirit, mind and body for all.  The Branch Director will lead program directors in developing, managing and sustaining programming that is culturally diverse, interesting and relevant to the community.  The Director must have excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively with members, staff, supporters, and community organizations.  This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. s

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide leadership and supervision for multiple full time Program Directors and part-time Program Coordinators in the day-to-day operations of the facility and development and execution of new and existing programs. 
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and mentors new program directors or coordinators.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to Program Directors and Coordinators in successful fiscal management, budgeting, income planning, expense control, inventory control, and program planning for a multi-million operating and program budget.
  • Direct and manage the development, operations and growth of assigned program areas, and ensure high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and on-going staff management.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.  Must have the desire to learn and respond to the programming needs of the community. 
  • Lead Program Staff Meetings on a regular basis to facilitate program planning and communication between managers.
  • Ensures compliance with established procedures, policies, safety and housekeeping standards.   Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) on scheduled evening and/or weekends to provide oversight of customer service delivery and facility operation. 
  • Participate in Board of Directors meetings and interface with Program Committee members.
  • Make presentations to small and large groups in a variety of environments.
  • Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.  Actively participate in fundraising events and association events.
  • Work closely with membership/marketing staff to promote programs and facility.
  • Model the four YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility while performing all duties.
  • Complete required YMCA trainings according to Edwardsville YMCA employee policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in social services, recreation, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct branch operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of staff; conflict resolution.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and positive relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Excellent writing, communication and computer skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to effectively manage a number of tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salar: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00
