Director, Cycling Events

General Summary
The Director of Cycling Events will develop and lead the cycling fundraising initiative for the Association. This will include the strategy, ride details, recruitment and training program for the nationwide cycling program. This also includes all trainings, materials, plans and resources needed for staff, volunteers and participants.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop national plan for cycling program development including strategy, leadership and training needed to achieve revenue goals
- Develop national plan for cycling program development including strategy, leadership and training needed to achieve revenue goals
- Plan and deliver event logistics for multiple cycling fundraising events.
- Identify and manage third party suppliers including but not limited to route design and mapping, participant support and event execution
- Develop and deliver robust marketing and communication plans for cycling events including promotional materials, and social media content and messaging.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the cycling program and other allocated event areas to maximize fundraising income.
- Build the profile of the cycling program by identifying and developing relationships with key cycling industry partners, such as cycling clubs, event organizers and cycling retailers.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 10 plus years of experience in non-profit cycling programs, management of volunteers, and event marketing
- Ability to develop a strategy around a new initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with various stakeholders: including revenue departments and other strategic plan partners
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust work plan to accommodate opportunities to collaborate
- Ability to think strategically and determine long-term implications of decisions
- Ability to analyze complex situations and propose solutions which support the Association's mission and vision
- Ability to travel up to 70% of time as required.
