Our international organization seeks to hire a full-time or part-time Operations Manager (OM) to join the Goals for Girls team and strengthen the organization’s operations. The OM will be a key part of the organization and will help to implement the vision of the Executive Director (ED) and Leadership Team, as directed by the Board of Directors. The OM will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including management of our virtual organization, human resources, finances, IT, and fundraising. This is a new position developed in preparation for future growth. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Governance

  • As directed, help to develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures.  

  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance thereof. 

  • Maintain filings to ensure compliance with US non-profit federal and state requirements. 

  • Working with ED, helping prepare materials for Board Meetings, and acting as staff liaison to relevant Board committees.

Administrative and IT Infrastructure

  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, Board of Directors and other staff as appropriate, including scheduling, travel arrangements, etc. 

  • Oversee virtual office management; IT and phone support. 

  • Maintain, administer and train others on the effective use of platforms and systems.

Human Resources

  • Manage recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding of staff. 

  • Manage compensation and benefits of staff. 

  • Oversee staff performance and reviews. 

  • Help promote an organizational culture that encourages top performance and high morale among employees, contractors, and volunteers.

Financial Management  

  • Administration of all financial plans, budgets, and reports. 

  • Provide general financial oversight and monitoring on behalf of the ED and Board. 

  • Coordinate day-to-day finance operations, liaising with our outsourced accounting firm; this includes processing deposits, payables, reimbursements, invoicing, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and practices, and coordinating and supporting the preparation of annual audits and reports with the accounting firm. 

Fundraising 

  • Lead administrative aspects of individual giving, corporate giving, and grant management including donor research, data management, donor communications, pre-proposal, grant application development, tracking, and reporting. 

  • Assist with the implementation and management of the annual fundraising plan.

Other 

Goals for Girls staff are expected to be flexible and to take on additional duties as assigned, according to the organization’s needs and the staff member’s skills and abilities. Because we are a non-profit that serves the community, some events or projects may require work on an occasional night or weekend.

Educational Background: 
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a non-profit/related position. Prior non-profit experience is a bonus.
Skills/Experience: 

The successful candidate for the position of Operations Manager will have the following qualifications:  

  • Demonstrated experience in operational/office management, personnel management, and financial/budget administration. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace; Quickbooks; data analysis and IT management, is a plus.  

  • Highly organized with attention to detail; ability to work independently, take responsibility and coordinate multiple, diverse projects, set realistic deadlines, and manage a timeline. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills. 

  • Prioritization skills and ability to work according to the organization’s needs. 

  • Willingness to learn and grow with the organization. 

  • Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to thrive in an international, dynamic, mission-driven environment.

  • High levels of integrity. 

  • Strong commitment to youth development and/or sport-based development.
