The Wolf Conservation Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and preserve wolves in North America through education, advocacy and participation in both the Mexican gray wolf and red wolf Species Survival Plan.
The Media & Communications Manager is an integral part of the WCC’s engagement and outreach efforts. This role is responsible for executing and expanding our overall communication and media strategy across a variety of platforms to promote the objectives and mission of the WCC. The ideal candidate would be an excellent writer and have a range of skills in communications, including the ability to tell compelling stories to a variety of audiences across different formats. Passion for animal advocacy is a plus.
- Write clear and concise email, blogs, press releases, fundraising campaigns, and donor outreach
- Design and layout communication and messaging materials, ensuring that the content is in line with the WCC’s brand and voice
- Research and create high-quality press releases, online content, infographics, marketing materials, and annual reports
- Drive and manage high-quality and effective digital and print materials
- Develop and operationalize key communications and content policies, protocols and guidelines
- Work with WCC team members to coordinate fundraising, educational, and advocacy content for the various WCC social media and email platforms and distribute in line with WCC post timing and guidelines.
- Provide regular reports to the WCC leadership team on email and social performance and analytics
- Other duties as assigned
- At least 3 years’ experience developing communication materials across multiple formats and platforms
- At least 3 years’ experience designing layouts and creating content
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Solid time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) exempt position. Primary Schedule is Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm (actual days / hours may vary as dictated by need). Salary is commensurate with experience
