  • Teach Janesville school district approved curriculum, providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each child.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and implement lesson plans according to the district approved curriculum.
  • Utilize positive behavior guidance techniques with children.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to 4K Assistant Teacher(s).
  • Arrives at scheduled time, prepared for daily activities.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and healthy.
  • Respects the confidentiality of all children, volunteers, and staff at all times.
  • Maintains current status on all required certifications.
  • Plans and implements Parent Teacher conferences.
  • Attends all required trainings and meetings.
  • Assists with coordination of family outreach activities.
  • Follows program rules, YMCA policies and the YMCA Code of Conduct.
  • Exhibits the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility daily.
  • Continues professional growth.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Possess current Bachelor’s Degree in Early childhood, Pre-K, Kindergarten or Elementary Education.
  • Will need to obtain a DPI license from the State of WI
  • 2017-2018 School Year
  • Days and Hours: 7:45-3:30pm
  • Summer hours available if interested
