Human Resources supports the organization across multiple functions- hiring, performance management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and learning & development. We are seeking a volunteer Program Manager with Diversity & Inclusion knowledge to support the EVP Human Resources in developing a D&I strategy/programming.

Reporting to the EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer, the volunteer Program Manager will research, synthesize information, potentially conduct staff interviews and provide a set of recommendations and ultimately a suggested framework for a Diversity & Inclusion program at LLS. This role can be fulfilled entirely at our national office in Rye Brook, NY, or by spending some time in our national office and also working virtually.

Volunteer will serve from LLS’s Rye Brook, NY location and possibly virtually as well.

Project is anticipated to take approximately 200 hours and needs to be completed by November 15, 2017. Flexible schedule based on mutually agreed upon times.

Areas of Responsibility: 

TrainingLLS will provide the volunteer with an orientation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Tasks and deliverables will include, but are not limited to:

Internal and external research

  • Synthesize data collected
  • Conduct meetings with HR and other LLS staff
  • Prepare a findings report
  • Prepare a D&I strategy and framework for successful implementation within LLS
Skills/Experience: 

The ideal volunteer candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Previous program development experience
  • Previous Diversity & Inclusion and/or affinity group experience
