The Organization:

Partakers supports Massachusetts prison education by coordinating teams of volunteers who mentor incarcerated people who are enrolled in Partakers College Behind Bars (CBB) and formerly incarcerated people in our re-entry initiative, Partakers Empowerment Program (PEP). Partakers CBB provides mentorship to incarcerated people as they pursue higher education through the Boston University Prison Education Program, the Tufts Prison Initiative, Boston College Prison Education Program, and the Emerson Prison Initiative. Through PEP enrollment, formerly incarcerated people can acquire resources such as computers and enhance skills critical to successfully transitioning to life outside. In PEP workshops they learn to use technology and acquire job search skills. Both programs provide opportunities and support well-being, personal growth, and life fulfillment. Partakers is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-deductible non-profit organization.

 

Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in keeping the office and staff functioning smoothly, supporting the Executive Director, and identifying, securing, and engaging donors and funders. We are specifically looking for a candidate who can make a long-term commitment to a part-time position, without benefits, working approximately 21 hours a week. While the majority of functions may be conducted remotely, some tasks will be required to be conducted at the Partakers office in Auburndale, MA. Only local candidates will be considered. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Job Functions:

●     Responsible for the development of client response emails, client written correspondence, donor communications, and the scanned file uploads of all student letters.

●     Manage, and keep updated all database entries for new mentor and mentee contacts in Constant Contact, any movement of students across programs and/or facilities, and the organization of mentoring teams in the Partakers database. 

●     Manage, and keep updated all database entries for all Partakers information in SalesForce.

●     Oversee and organize all visitation applications and all related procedures.

●     Create and maintain all social media content for Partakers accounts including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

●     Responsible for taking Board and committee meeting minutes. 

●     Website management and updates as required.

Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications

● A High School Degree/GED/HiSET is desired, additional education is preferred

● Exceptional organizational skills

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● An entrepreneurial work ethic and a desire to get the job done

● Willingness to share own ideas, even among senior staff and board members

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

●  Proficient in Dropbox and other cloud-based applications including online Google applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc) 

● Proficient in Zoom and other online meeting applications

● Interest in, commitment to, and passion for the mission and vision of Partakers

● Some knowledge in computer support and operations, preferred

This position is a salaried position starting at $25,000 (equivalent to $15-20 per hour), commensurate with experience.

Compensation/Benefits: 

$15-20/ hour

Approximately 21 hours per week. 

Stable and flexible work hours

Hybrid schedule with most work to be done remotely and some onsite work as needed.
