Role Summary:
As the Technology Manager on our Digital Media team, you’ll be managing an established and growing team of best-in-breed Software, Quality, and Support Engineers, as we build, test, and deliver award winning products for NPR.org, our many public and internal APIs, mobile applications, and the systems that make it all run. You will partner closely with our Product, Design, and Project Management teams to identify priorities, build new features, and improve and maintain existing applications. You will nurture, teach, and keep the team focused.
Your Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of software developers, quality engineers, and support staff
- Provide hands-on, individualized mentorship for your direct reports
- Manage day to day operations of the technology team, NPR.org, and its systems
- Ensure the most important work is being addressed and completed within budget
- Liaise with peers and stakeholders to manage priorities
- Help define, manage, and improve software and product development processes
- Play a role in technology decision-making with other senior team members
- Assist with recruitment, including talent evaluation, interviewing, and on-boarding
Qualifications:
About you:
- 2-4 years as a Technology, Operations, or Technical Project Manager
- Master of scrum or other Agile methodologies
- You can hang with geeks and non-geeks alike
- You thrive when multi-tasking
- You are technology-agnostic and care only about the right tool for the job
- You communicate clearly and often
