The IT Service Desk team at NPR is seeking a Desktop Support Technician II (Temporary) to join its team comprising of PC Support and Remote support technicians.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Experienced in evaluating, installing, testing, maintaining and supporting PCs and laptops, peripherals, printers, operating systems and applications
  • Experienced evaluating and testing PC-based software packages to determine compatibility with existing systems
  • Deploys desktop images using Microsoft SCCM and MDT technologies
  • Provides technical assistance and training to end-users
  • Responds to problems and service requests within SLAs
  • Coordinates and performs department moves
  • Provide M.A.C (Move/Add/Change) to infrastructure team
  • Interfaces with local management and IT
  • Maintains hardware and software inventory
  • Correspond with NPR employee and other IT departments
  • Create SOPs for Service Desk processes and procedures
  • Creates and maintains end-user documentation and SOP's
  • Assist with Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Audit reporting
  • Available to work extra hours as required, including nights and weekends base on 24x7 operation
  • Participates in small and large scale PC-related projects
  • Train and mentor junior technicians
  • Interfaces with outside clients and vendors
  • Participates in after-hours, on-call support
  • Adheres to defined Service Desk procedures and standards
  • Adhere to all company security and compliance standards
  • Available to travel, as required

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The candidate selected will have a majority of the following skills, abilities, competencies, and knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years of Service Desk Experience
  • Minimum 3 years PC and Mac support hardware and o/s troubleshooting skills
  • Minimum 3 years of Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows and MS Office experience
  • Experience with remote access troubleshooting and PC imaging software
  • Familiarity with networking and voice/data cabling.
  • Experience with system monitoring systems
  • Basic experience troubleshooting server, network and telecom issues
  • Experience with Avaya VOIP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, Self-Starter, detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Disciplined approach to troubleshooting
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration or major in engineering or computer science or an Associate degree and 3 years direct career experience in information technology disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Certifications:

A+, Network+, MCP and/or MCDST Apple Certified Associate or Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) Certification required
