Vice President of Youth Development position open at the Greater Rochester YMCA!
Under the general direction of the Executive Vice President of Operations, this position serves as a key member of the COO’s senior staff and works with other members of the leadership team in developing and executing strategies that enable the YMCA of Greater Rochester to strengthen aspects of all Association and branch youth development programming, which include year-round child care, school age child care, and summer program initiatives. As such, this position holds the primary responsibility for the education, health, welfare and safety of the children enrolled in these programs. This position provides oversight and supervision to the work of the Director of Youth-Based Partnerships and Outcomes and Association OCFS Coordinator. In doing so is responsible for leadership development and cultivation of key strategic partnerships with community agencies such as the United Way, school districts, foundations, like the Greater Rochester Health Foundation, and the County Department of Human Services. In addition, this position ensures key programmatic and grant-funded outcomes are being met and demonstrating positive community impact. The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
- Provides leadership to youth development efforts throughout the Association including summer program initiatives and works collaboratively with Program Leadership Teams to achieve growing and quality driven programs.
- Provides leadership to child care throughout the Association and acts as lead liaison with the Office of Children and Family Services ensuring all YMCA child care sites meet licensing requirements and staff are adequately oriented and trained.
- Provides leadership and supervision to the Director of Youth-Based Partnerships and Outcomes and the Association’s OCFS Coordinator.
- Responsible for maintaining and nurturing United Way relationships to ensure funded programs are operating efficiently and ensures quality standards and outcome measurements are being met.
- This position requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years successful experience in the youth development and child care field.
- This experience should include demonstrated successful experience, knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of child care programs in a senior management position or similar experience in a large complex equivalent non-profit organization.
- Strong experience in teamwork and communication skills required.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary education or related field necessary.
