Full-Time Exempt | Reports to Senior Director of Programs
Clery Center seeks an Assistant Director of Programs to support implementation and execution of programs and member services which address overall campus safety including compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act. The Assistant Director is responsible for conducting in person and virtual trainings, webinars, and technical assistance on the Clery Act. These trainings may include conference presentations and campus training requests. This role will also be responsible for supporting the provision of services to Clery Center member institutions.
The Assistant Director must be skilled at engaging an audience of adult learners, internalizing complex information, problem solving, and utilizing web conference systems. The position requires project management skills, excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, some familiarity with e-learning and CRM software as well as the potential for extensive travel serving as a representative at Clery Act Training Seminars. Travel may be up to 50% of the time although travel is temporarily suspended at this time due to COVID-19. This is a regular, full-time exempt, fully remote position that may be located anywhere in the United States with access to a major airport.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expertise related to the Clery Act and campus safety prevention and response efforts (inclusive of hazing, dating and domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and hate crimes) through serving as a representative of Clery Center at in-person and online/virtual education and training programs.
- Provide interactive, engaging training opportunities targeted towards adult learners.
- Implement virtual offerings such as webinars and conference calls.
- Support Clery Center members through holding member welcome calls, reviewing annual security reports, and providing technical assistance on the Clery Act through email and phone correspondence.
- Support the Director of Training & Education with curriculum development and certain resource updates, and programming when needed.
- Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours (project based).
- Commitment to Clery Center’s organizational values of being mission driven, collaborative, innovative, inclusive, and authentic.
- At least two years previous experience providing training facilitation or presentation of information on policy and procedures to adult learners
- At least two years previous experience within campus safety or student affairs at an institution of higher education or equivalent experience at any place of education or nonprofit
- Familiarity and/or experience with technical writing in relation to policy, procedures, analysis, or critique
- Dedication to Clery Center’s mission of improving campus safety by promoting a multidisciplinary approach that recognizes how identity and experience impact safety
- An appreciation of the need for education and training on federal campus safety laws like the Clery Act and Title IX in order to further the creation of safer campuses for all people
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, e-learning platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) software and learning management system (LMS) software a plus
- Clear communicator, driven by collaboration and finding solutions
Other Requirements
- Ability to physically perform the duties listed above and work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in an office or workspace, use of a computer/laptop for several hours at a time, using a headset and making phone calls
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to various locations across the United States as needed when organizational travel resumes
- Must have access to a private workspace appropriate for virtual training facilitation, reliable phone service, and high-speed internet
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $45,000-52,000 (commensurate with experience)
