YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo is looking to hire an hourly Junior Tennis Coordinator.  Hourly on court and private lessons based on experience

The Junior Tennis Coordinator will be responsible for the Portage branch junior tennis program administration in accordance with established YMCA policies and guidelines, assuring the highest level of quality.

 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  1. Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationship and strategic collaborations with other organizations in the service delivery area.
  2. Assists with all YMCA tournaments including tournaments run by the YMCA although not necessarily held at the YMCA.
  3. Lead, manage, and hold staff accountable.  Reviews and evaluates performance.  Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  4. Assists with development of the tennis budget, manage, and monitor the junior tennis operating budget, and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  5. Maintain tennis courts (indoors and outdoors) and surrounding areas, including care of equipment.
  6. Program development – planning and execution.
  7. Coordinate Junior Tennis Program
  8. Assist with developing and directing high quality member engagement opportunities and programs that supports the tennis program and the association mission, goals, and strategies.
Skills/Experience: 
  1. Minimum of 4 years’ tennis instruction experience with a high level of teaching skills in all levels of tennis
  2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  3. Strong organizational and leadership skills to assist with directing staff.
  4. Must have the ability to communicate the Y’s tennis vision to the market and to recruit and retain program participants.
