We're looking for role models for role models at two of our Boulder, CO after school sites.
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking fearless full-time guides for staff members who work tirelessly to provide school-age children with care each and every day ... well, most days.
The Y's School Age Program Site Director in Boulder is a managerial position but our ideal candidate is more worker bee than queen bee. Neither a doormat nor a dictator, this position requires someone who has energy, a happy demeanor and strong leadership skills to supervise, teach, nurture and encourage our staff with a balance of empathy, accountability, role modeling and hands-on work.
You might be the right candidate if...
You are a communicator, a listener and a patient answerer of questions. You are a creative life force, generating ideas to keep our summer camp and school-age programming fresh, interesting, engaging and all-around awesome. You are detail-oriented (you noticed we misspelled "oriented"). You are ready to implement a whole host of vitally important policies and procedures; you have countless children to protect, for goodness sake! And yet, you have the flexibility and calm nature that allows you to go with the flow and ride the whitewater rapids that can come with the job. You are even-keeled, working well with both administrative and programmatic work, both people and numbers, both concrete policies and the gray shades of human nature. You can speak eloquently to parents and administrative staff while also having the skill to send a child into a fit of giggles. You are a metaphorical chameleon*.
