The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking a candididate to fill the position of Branch Executive Director at our Kirkwood Family YMCA.

The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide leadership to a YMCA branch in the heart of downtown Kirkwood, a suburb southwest of St. Louis.The Kirkwood YMCA was founded in 1950 and had had multiple facility updates most recently including an updated personal training studio. This 31,000 square foot facility serves over 2,500 full pay membership units, 1,140 insurance-based units in total representing over 7,500 people in the community.They also operate 5 before & after school sites serving 200 youth and have 582 children in summer camp as a part of their $2.9M operating budget. This position supervises 6 directors over a team of 230 staff.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in business, human service, social service or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Y-USA Organizational Leader Status preferred
  • 3 or more years of management experience in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency

Special skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills
  • Possess a high level of organizational knowledge, experience and proficiency
  • Articulate communication skills relating to branch leadership
  • Ability to successfully lead, recruit and develop staff of all levels
  • Possess and demonstrate commitment and passion for mission-centered objectives
  • Master conflict resolution skills and crisis management proficiencies
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking, program development and change capacity
