The Frank DeLuca YMCA Family Center in Ocala, Florida is seeking a dynamic Membership Sales Director to join our leadership team. This position is responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities, growing membership units, and increasing revenue that produces positive net gains at the Family Center.

The incumbent will lead all aspects of driving qualified prospects through the doors and closing the sale using various sales methods, such as working the wellness floor for referrals, inside sales and phone techniques, following up on digital marketing leads, identifying marketplace opportunities, and engaging new business partnerships. This individual must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as have an impressive presence when delivering cause-driven tours with a consultative sales approach that tailors to the needs of prospective members and connecting them with the Y’s many service offerings and mission. The ideal candidate is self-driven, team leader and highly motivated by achieving daily, weekly and monthly sales targets, with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic in sales excellence and a passion for health and wellness.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Implement and execute sales strategies that promote new membership sales and produce positive net gains at a Family Center / facility location.
  • Manage the new membership acquisition process from opportunity through ensuring the close of sale.
  • Lead all aspects of driving qualified prospects; lead cause-driven tours and ensure new sales targets are met through daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals.
  • Lead new business development opportunities, establish new business partnerships, as well as utilizes inside sales and phone techniques that drives new membership sales.
  • Identify marketplace opportunities, develop marketing plans utilizing visual, written and verbal communication tools, and follows up on digital marketing leads.
  • Utilizes the CRM system and technology resources for effective sales management; tracking of memberships, reports, KPI’s and other data to maximize new membership acquisition sales goals.
  • Promote program and membership enrollment through product knowledge and interactions with existing and potential members. Collaborate with department leads to maximize opportunity for membership referrals and creating a pipeline of new members.
  • Plan and execute membership events at the Family Center to engage new members. Promote the Family Center and YMCA of Central Florida’s special events among the members and community.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; sales, business administration, marketing, communications, wellness or related field of study preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in sales required; with a proven track record of initiative, creativity and motivation to surpass challenging performance goals.
  • Demonstrated track record of generating prospect leads and closing sales required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Salesforce CRM experience a plus.
  • Previous YMCA, Healthcare, or related fitness industry sales management experience preferred.
  • Staff supervision experience required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, public relations, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to make oral presentations, build rapport and credibility quickly.
  • Ability to deal with pressure in meeting sales goals.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours based on business needs; including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
