The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking a cause-driven, innovative leader to guide a diverse staff and volunteer team of an established district serving the downtown Oklahoma City and surrounding communities.

The downtown district has over 90,000 square foot under roof. It includes a full facility YMCA with a gymnasium, pool, fitness center, suspended indoor track, child watch, and 2 group exercise studios. 2 membership centers, a child development center and oversight of the Lincoln Park Senior Center. Its total annual operating budget is $4 million-plus with approximately 3,700 membership units. Core programs include health and wellness, aquatics, school age, before and after school childcare, day camp and youth sports.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinates the development of the branch council and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop programs that support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts and works with association V.P. of Communications to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Seven or more years of progressive professional and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $86,000.00 - $108,000.00
