Exciting opportunity to join our growing membership team as we move into our new 40,000 square foot facility next year!

The Membership Coordinator delivers excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes membership and programs. Works closely with Membership Director on other responsibilities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support and assist Membership Director with Member Service policies and procedures, training, goals and objectives, issues and concerns, monthly meetings, Incident Reporting, sales promotions and member edit and/or administrative forms.
  • Create monthly staffing schedules for approval by Membership Director and fill in for staff as needed.
  • Assist with continuous enhancement and improvement of the onboarding experience for members and staff
  • Assist with various administrative duties, monthly reports, member inquiries, outstanding account balances and mailings.
  • Assist with fundraising events, obtain and assist campaigners with the staff and annual campaign.
  • Assist with all emergency drill and safety training for staff, including online trainings and certifications.
  • Help to create opportunities for volunteers. Work with volunteers and interns, as needed. Recruit volunteers for and provide assistance at Special Events.
  • Give Cause Driven Tours and perform all Member Service Representative duties at the Member Service, as assigned. Act as Manager on Duty, as assigned.
  • Support and assist with the Summit Area YMCAs Diversity, Inclusion & Global (DIG) initiatives.
  • Exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at all times.
  • Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and special events; and complete the required training hours.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Membership Director/Executive Director.
  • As an Ambassador for the Y, communicates to members, volunteers, and the general public that the Y is the nation’s leading non-profit committed to strengthening the community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
Educational Background: 
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Benefits: The Summit Area YMCA offers a full range of employee benefits, 12% retirement upon eligibility, PTO, free family YMCA membership and subsidized child care.

Hourly: $16.00 - $19.00
