Seeking a Program Director for The 21st Century Afterschool grant-funded program serving middle schools and 9th-grade academies.
The 21st Century Program is a grant-funded program serving middle schools and 9th grade academies (3 sites) in Perth Amboy. Under the direction ofthe Youth Development Director, the 21st Century Program Director is responsible for all aspects of managing and implementing a high-quality educational program including: after school, Saturday teen nights and summer school. Responsibilities include budgeting, building great relationships with diverse groups of individuals, providing direction and training to staff and administrative work required to maintain a Federally-funded program.
- Understand the YMCA Mission promote and incorporate the YMCA five core values: Caring-Honesty-Respect-Responsibility-Faith and character development model into all program activities.
- Plans for and implements extended learning opportunities for students to positively impact academic outcomes and build student connections to school.
- Establishes a safe and effective learning environment for students.
- Supervises and supports teaching staff in order to implement a successful program, observes classes and maintains records.
- Acts as liaison with community partners, school staff, students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Manage the recruitment and retention of students.
- Engages with parents and families to encourage a community-centered program.
- Complete necessary reports and submit to State.
- Maintain participant files, program forms, and applicable licenses.
- Meeting with key program staff, teachers, stakeholders, collaborators, evaluator, etc. regularly.
- Coordinate 21st CCLC advisory board meetings and ensure implementation of sustainability plan.
- Supervise site coordinators, administrative staff and program volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with evaluation requirements (data-entry into federal and state data-collection systems).
- Ensure the program meets all licensing requirements of the state of New Jersey.
- Monitor the program budget, assuring that staffing and operating expenses are in line with budget and in compliance with grant requirements.
- Oversee the development and growth of a collaborative and productive Parents Council to engage parents in the leadership and support processes of the program.
- Interface with parents on all concerns related to the program, staff interactions, participant’s behavior and attendance.
- Establishes new program activities and expands collaborative relationships within the community in accordance with the organization’s strategic plans.
- Responsible for other duties, as assigned and required by grant.
- Three (3) years of supervising school-based programs with a primary responsibility for operations, budget management and staff supervision.
Salary: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00
