The Accounting Clerk is responsible for a variety of tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable including maintenance of files related to these areas.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Enters all vendor invoices into accounting system (Daxko) and prepares payments within designated time frames and cash flow limits.
- Maintains complete and accurate files of all vendors and credit card charges and all accounts payable transactions.
- Performs daily cash management, monthly bank reconciliations and bi-monthly cash disbursements.
- Reviews and prepares recurring and non-recurring journal entries monthly, including updating schedules. Assists with preparation of month-end and year-end closing and the annual audit.
- Acts as liaison for day to day banking activities, inclusive of collecting, preparing and delivering daily deposits to the bank. Reconciles and uploads daily cash receipts into the accounting system.
- Completes weekly reconciliations of contributions with the Development department utilizing Daxko Accounting and Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge.
- Completes monthly reconciliations of payments with the Childcare/Camp departments utilizing Daxko Accounting and Smart Tuition.
- Processes NSF checks and drafts in the accounting system and maintain all records pertaining to NSF chargebacks.
- Maintains Association Services petty cash.
- Maintains insurance certificates for all vendors.
- Assists the Controller and acts as back-up in his/her absence.
- Attends trainings, seminars and meetings as required.
- Informs the Controller and/or CFO of situations requiring his/her attention.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested and necessary.

Educational Background:
An Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of two years related experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
- Experience working with computerized accounting systems and sound working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with confidential matters.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available to work evenings or weekends, if required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
