YMCA Camp Tak is located on Lake Fort Gibson. Be part of the leadership of this historic camp.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Camping Services, the Camp Director will be responsible for the day to day decision making and supervision of staff at Camp Takatoka. They will facilitate and communicate with user groups and build revenue through new conferences and increased camper registrations. They are responsible for hiring and training summer camp staff as well as building curriculum and scheduling for camp sessions. This position also plays a key role in the YMCA of Greater Tulsa’s partnership with Camp Hope America – Family Safety Center. They will be responsible for monthly meetings with FSC staff and leading Pathways monthly events. They will be expected to accomplish tasks and work independently under general direction. They will play an integral role in the development of building strong character values in others. Staff must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure growth in camper registration and facility rental sales
- Recruitment through excellent camp programs and marketing of programs
- Increase membership retention through excellent camp programs and efficient and direct marketing
- Recruit, develop and lead staff.
- Assist during Strong Kids Campaign
- Consistently communicate with direct supervisor regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
- Lead scheduling of facility and programs
- Helping maintain camp, including cleaning, equipment, and all records.
- Attend and lead staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Responsible for maintaining discipline among campers as needed.
- Provide all campers with a diverse program experience.
- Respond appropriately to all emergency and non-emergency situations and fill out necessary paperwork.
- Report all incidents to direct supervisor and fill out necessary paperwork.
- Implement curriculum and activities according to schedules.
- Notify supervisor of any broken or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
- Must be able to discuss a camper's experience at any time with a parent.
- Considerable judgment and resourcefulness required.
- Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
- Responsible for selecting, instructing, directing and supervising the flow of work.
- Understand and implement all emergency drills as needed.
- Care for a group of children as needed in case of staff shortage.
- Consistently demonstrate “best practices” of youth development and childcare profession.
- Must be 25 years old
- CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED, and O2
- Current Standard First Aid Certification
- Minimum 6 months supervisory experience·
Salary: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00
