The new Lockport Family Y is seeking an experience program director with a passion for the Y's mission and cause.
The program director develops, implements and manages licensed school-age childcare programs located at elementary schools within the Lockport, Starpoint, Royalton-Hartland, and Wilson School Districts. The program director is also responsible for the operation of youth sports programming at the Lockport Family Y, and summer day camp programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, directs and coordinates school-age childcare, day camp, and youth sports programs. Ensures high-quality programs, establishes new program activities and ensures program enrollment targets are met.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Exercises necessary controls to ensure operations are carried out and a balanced fiscal operation exists.
- Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to the program area.
- Develops and maintains relationships with OCFS personnel, school administration, parent groups, and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Provides staff leadership for the annual campaign and various committees.
- Provides for upkeep of program facilities and equipment. Orders and distributes program supplies.
- Maintains records and department files, include staff certifications.
- Organizes special events related to the program area.
- Implements the marketing plan and distributes program information.
- Monitors and responds to customer feedback. Tracks trends and adjusts programming when necessary.
- Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Carries out other tasks as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a related position with supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to direct assigned operations including supervision and development of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to use analytical, interpretative, and evaluative thought in making decisions and solving problems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Competency using Microsoft Office software.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $43,300.00
