The Project Analyst develops all the necessary administrative, financial and assistance activities for the correct operation of the water Strategy.

Areas of Responsibility: 

This Professional will be in charge developing administrative, financial and procurement activities that allow the proper planning, execution, and monitoring of projects within the framework of the Water Strategy. The Professional will be overseen by the Water Coordinator and will coordinate its work with other members of the TNC Finance and Operations team and the NASCA Management Team.  The professional will be based in Ecuador´s office.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Support planning and updating of operative plans of the strategy and implement actions for their improvement, coordinately with the Water Coordinator and financial team.
  • Develop the necessary administrative and financial procedures for execution of agreements, grants and contracts of the strategy, in coordination with the financial team and following procedures requested by donors.
  • Prepare the necessary periodic financials reports of projects and agreements of the strategy.
  • Manage publication, request, monitoring, and keeping files of the contracts and agreements of the Water Strategy.
  • Prepare and manage requests of amendments for contracts in accordance with guidelines from supervisors.
  • Carry out processes of procurement of goods and services for the strategy following guidelines given by staff and stated in SOP.
  • Maintain updated the contracts and agreements database, including products due date and related payments, raising alerts related SOP compliance.
  • Verify compliance of SOP by professionals who use resources of the strategy.
  • Lead logistic activities necessary for events, field trips required by professionals of the strategy and guests.
  • Support the review of the expenses report, legalization of advances, expenses with credit cards, and requests for repayment made by staff of the strategy.
  • Check monthly the appropriate upload of DELTEK made by staff and reviewing it corresponds to each of the projects of the strategy.
  • Collaborate with budget management in projects implementation, negotiating and contracting vendors
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements from donors.           
  • Support the water coordinator in planning and executing the strategy, including collecting financial information for new funding proposals.
  • Prepare materials and attend internal audits requested by the donors of the strategy.
  • Work articulately with the grants team when preparing propsals for public and private donors
  • Keep the general archive of the strategy organized
Educational Background: 
Accountant, business administrator, industrial engineer and related professions with 2-3 years’ experience in administrative activities.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience communicating with the public both in writing and verbally
  • Experience using applications such as advance Microsoft Word, power point, Excel, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.   

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in reporting information related to international cooperation projects
  • Experience in administrative procedures of national and international funds.
  • Experience in managing administrative tasks related to complex projects, including financial management, and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
  • Experience in giving administrative support to environmental projects.
