Software Engineer - Salesforce

As part of the NPR Digital Media team, you will work on Salesforce platform integrations across the NPR product portfolio. The Salesforce Developer will work closely with Product Managers and the scrum team to provide technical guidance to transform and expand how NPR uses and integrations with Salesforce across the organization. The role spans systems that power digital experiences for our audience and those that empower our Member Stations. You will be expected to take a lead role in designing, implementing and deploying technical requirements on the Salesforce.com platform.

Educational Background: 
Minimum education experience, required or preferred. (Ex: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce.com architecture and API (REST/SOAP/MetaData, etc)
  • Experience developing in Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Design and Visualforce pages
  • Understanding all aspects of Salesforce including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Community Cloud
  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business solutions on the SFDC platform based on industry best practices
  • Facilitate continuous improvement within the environment
  • Maintain current industry knowledge, certifications and attend ongoing training on Salesforce best practices and procedures
  • Creativity, initiative, thirst for innovation and acute attention to detail
  • Vigor for crafting well-tested, well-documented and elegantly structured code.
  • Passion for standards-based web development and polyglot programming.
  • Eagerness to be involved in all stages of the product development cycle.
  • Honesty, friendly attitude and good sense of humor.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications
  • Experience working in the Nonprofit Success Pack
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary product development team in an Agile environment.
  • A passion for NPR’s content and/or familiarity with our digital products
