AARP Services, Inc (ASI) is a service organization managing the licensing of the AARP brand and related assets and overseeing the provider relationships that deliver products and services to the 50+ population.  ASI searching for a Enterprise Data Engineer to leverage data to assist our mission to inspire new and innovative business practices, guide consumers to make informed choices, and deliver products and services that better fulfill life-stage needs.

AARP is undergoing an initiative to move our data to the cloud (Amazon Web Services / AWS). The Enterprise Data Engineer will support the team to design, implement, and maintain data warehousing and data management solutions to create pristine data and efficiently mobilize it for actionable insights including:

  • building source system extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes;
  • building new data processing procedures;
  • verifying data accuracy; and 
  • designing complex interactions between data fields within the data management solution.  

The Enterprise Data Engineer will be the subject-matter-expert (SME) on data sources, structures, and infrastructure solutions.  The Enterprise Data Engineer will also have the opportunity to develop custom software components and processes for analytic applications, such as modeling, mining, and production. The Enterprise Data Engineer will have the opportunity to:

  • design, maintain, and enhance the ASI data platform and infrastructure system;
  • build, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of ETL feeds; and
  • implement a standard nomenclature for use within the Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW)
Educational Background: 
Completed a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and/or Statistics);
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of experience in architecting tools, databases, and technical solutions;
  • experience with digital/campaign analytics tools as a service (e.g., Adobe Test and Target, Adobe Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, Ad Networks, DMPs, DSPs, CMS, Tag Management, RTB APIs, etc.);
  • proficiency in SQL Server 2016, AWS, Amazon Redshift, and knowledge of no-SQL databases; and
  • experience with AWS (Redshift, WP Analytics, Data bricks) and coding (R, Python).
