The Membership Director is responsible for developing membership and other program revenue which will enable the association to forward their strategic mission plan. They are accountable for meeting/exceeding monthly and annual revenue and retention goals. They actively supervise service center staff in the implementation of front desk procedures. This position works closely with the administrative leadership team to develop organizational strategies which serve community needs. They foster a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Create and implement marketing strategies and sales initiatives to achieve/exceed organizational annual sales revenue and retention goals.
- Prospect for new members/clients while ensuring a level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty among those we serve.
- Conduct tours for potential new members using a consultative sales approach.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Leads membership staff and volunteers effectively; recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams; on-boards and develops them for success
- Organizes internal membership events and represents the YMCA at community events
- Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing and ambiguous work environment.
- Ability to work a variety of hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- CPR, First Aid, AND AED certifications (within 30 days of hire).
Preferred
- Minimum two years of experience leading a sale or leadership team.
