Hours: M-F, 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., occasional evening or weekend
Salary Range: $30,000-$35,000
The Healthy Home Connections Specialist will provide match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers, and a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of volunteers; and will also serve as a liaison between community partners to ensure BBBS families have opportunities to access resources and skills to meet their needs.
Match Support Responsibilities- In cooperation with enrollment staff, coordinate initial match between youth and volunteers.
- Continually assess the match relationship focusing on: child safety, match relationship development, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction.
- Identify and address real and/or potential problems and barriers in the match as early as possible. This may include providing information, services or referrals to families of youth.
- Assess and provide for individual training needs for each match participant to assure a positive youth development experience for the child, and a successful and satisfying experience for the volunteer. This may include training for families of youth.
- Develop, promote and implement individual and group match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement with the child and agency affiliation through individualized recognition, annual events, and reengagement strategies.
- Effectively utilize online reporting systems and surveys to asses match impact and youth development.
- Share with Operations Manager or Executive Director potential partnership relationships as discovered through volunteers’ and parents’ employers and affiliations.
- Conduct exit interview by phone with all parties at match closure. Assess reasons for match closure and re-match potential.
- Identify and promote re-engagement of volunteers as Bigs, board members and donors in other volunteer capacities.
- Deliver quality services, maintain accurate and timely records for each match according to standards, and utilize technology to report, synthesize and analyze data.
- Assists in the evaluation of program services.
- Maintain consistent availability for individual meetings with BBBS children/families/volunteers, agency staff and community partners.
- Actively participates in agency meetings and case reviews.
- Actively participates in developing innovative ways to meet agency goals and objectives.
- Maintains an understanding of community problems and resources.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with social service agencies, businesses and other community organizations.
- Perform duties and activities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles, and service standards.
- Participate in agency events and perform additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the Executive Director.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and/or similar programs
- Comfort with online tools and reporting systems
- Possess excellent writing, speaking, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with volunteers, parents, and children.
- Ability to form and sustain appropriate relationships with staff, volunteers, agency partners, and youth and families who come from diverse backgrounds.
- Understands youth and family risk and protective factors, 40 Developmental Assets or Strengthening Families framework preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field is required. Master’s is preferred.
- Two years paid professional experience working with at-risk families and youth, including case management experience required.
- Experience in volunteer support or management preferred.
- Excellent human relations, communications, and organizational skills.
- Experienced decision maker with capacity to work independently (with minimal supervision) on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated history of acting in a manner that reflects the agency’s values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect and responsibility.
- Must drive and have access to a car, possess a valid driver’s license, and meet state required insurance minimums.
