Under the general direction of the Senior Program Director the Program Director will aide in the delivery of general program functions and their day-to-day operations. This includes work realted to the Raritan Valley YMCA Child Care, Day Camp, Membership, Fitness, Youth Sports, Transportation, and Program Departments. Full time exempt position with excellent benefits, including childcare, flexible schedules, and postive work environment.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Program duties and assignments may change based on time of year and individual skill set as well as Y needs. Teach sports or fitness classes, assume a role in summer camp, drive the Y bus, fulfill membership roles; teach swimming, help with marketing… we will find your strengths.
- Meet the needs of the Y and its membership through the Program Director position.
- Assist with the program development and expansion
- Aide supervisors with membership development
- Participate in special events, and committees for planning and marketing.
- Participates in overall maintenance, upkeep, and facility improvement.
- Undertake administrative tasks as required.
- Attend all staff meetings, training sessions and special events as required.
- Provide safe, timely transportation to and from the YMCA including field trips, school pick-ups, summer camp swim programs, and all other driving dictated by the program areas.
- Arrange bus repairs and paperwork required by the governing bodies.
- Ensure attendance sheets are tracked and filed appropriately, including bus rosters.
- Conduct pre and post trip bus check and be responsible for the safety and security of the bus at completion of each run, inside and out, and report mechanical difficulties immediately.
- Arrange quarterly inspections, maintenance, repairs, and other needs for vehicles.
- Perform other job duties as requested and necessary.
Educational Background:
Bachelor of Science or Arts degree
Skills/Experience:
- We prefer an incumbent with the educational background required for potential YMCA Senior Directorship and a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree, but will consider the person who loves people work and has a diverse programming background with limited education. He or she must possess a number of skills and experiences in 3 or more of these program areas: fitness, sports, aquatics, membership, child care, camp, and program activities, and must be able to teach and/or direct part-time, and volunteer staff.
- The applicant must be eligible to obtain their CDL and assume bus driving responsibilities. The Y will train.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $27,000.00 - $35,000.00
