The Program Director is responsible for developing, delivering and administering programs targeted toward youth and family engagement. This includes but is not limited to: youth and teen programs, summer camp, family events, birthday parties, youth sports and other family programming. The incumbent is responsible for program development and quality, management of staff and compliance with department policies, procedures and expectations.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop, deliver and administer programs targeted toward youth and family engagement to include but not limited to: Summer Camp, Stay & Play, Youth Sports, Family Events, Birthday Parties, youth and teen enrichment programming.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, develop and supervise their team members.
  • Develop community partnerships in support of Youth and Family Engagement programming.
  • Recruit, onboard and engage program volunteers.
  • Ensure a high level of member service, enhancing the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction.
  • Manage related program budget to ensure revenue and program service goals are achieved.
  • Serve as a member of the branch leadership team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations.
  • Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA.
  • Handle and resolve program-related concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Apply all YMCA policies and expectations to program implementation.
Educational Background: 
BS degree in education, recreation, childhood development or related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in program leadership role.
  • Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic 
    segments of the community
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $33,000.00 - $38,000.00
