350.org is looking for a passionate campaigner and experienced organiser to join our UK team
The UK Organiser is responsible for coordinating, growing and training our networks of local groups in the UK, and supporting them to win campaigns in alignment with 350’s strategic priorities. They are responsible for identifying and addressing the training needs of the network, as well as working with others to provide online tools and resources. They will work closely with volunteer organisers, and mentor them to become leaders in our network. The role holder will also support with organising and mobilising nationally for key moments.
Organising and trainings:
- Support and train a network of campaigners to develop strategic and successful local campaigns for a Green New Deal, fossil fuel divestment, and in support of groups resisting fossil fuel projects.
- Develop plans to bring new people into climate activism, with a strong focus on supporting the involvement of people often marginalised or excluded from the climate movement
- Identify support needs in our network, and develop trainings and resources to meet them.
- Deliver trainings for local groups, in person and online
- Recruit, train and coordinate a core group of experienced volunteers to support the growth and delivery of our Green New Deal campaign.
- Inspire and support groups to participate in mass mobilisations and national actions
Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships relevant to decentralised campaigns
Other: From time to time, contribute work towards 350.org's overall mission that is outside of standard responsibilities and instead relies solely on geographic location or work capacity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong experience of working with groups to deliver campaigns at a local level on environmental, social or economic justice
- Experience designing and delivering training and support to grassroots activists and organisers
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes. Proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Able to travel frequently within the UK
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT ESSENTIAL)
- Experience campaigning on climate justice (at a local, regional or national level)
- Experience of organising campaigns with diverse groups of people, including in multi-racial and/or multi-class settings.
- Experience of working as part of a geographically dispersed team and network of campaigners.
- Some experience of working with teams in other countries on cross-country or global campaigns
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and contribute to campaign strategies
Work Environment: This role is predominantly office and/or home-based, although the role-holder will be expected to travel to participate in training workshops, meetings and events on a regular basis
Travel: This role will involve regular domestic travel and may require occasional international travel (1-2 times per year)
