The Senior Director of Youth Development, under the supervision of the Executive Director, will oversee the day to day operations of Day Camp, School Age Child Care Program both in-house and off-site (SOP), and Youth programs. The incumbent will possess a strong set of skills including program and staff development along with the ability to manage multiple program locations and assignments aligned with the mission of The Granite YMCA membership policies and procedures.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Staff training, state compliance, program & staff evaluations, curriculum development, program supplies as well as other operational functions.
  • Oversee the operations of the before and after school programs, vacation camps and full day programs.
  • Model the YMCA of the USA’s Best Practices to offer the highest quality programming.
  • Follow state guidelines for child care licensing.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate all child care staff.
  • Follow budget throughout the year and make necessary adjustments based on actual enrollment vs. budgeted enrollment.
  • Develop, review, and revise child care policies and procedures as deemed necessary.
  • Work with Supervisor and Marketing in the development of all promotional materials.
  • Coordinate all transportation needs for said programs.
  • Responsible for developing relations of all key school personnel and families.
  • Responsible for a minimum of 10-12 hours per week of direct program support.
  • Work with Supervisor with monthly variance reports, annual budget development and strategic planning.

  • Manage accounts receivable with the support of the office manager and Finance Dept.
  • Support the YMCA mission through volunteer development and assist in the annual Reach Out for Youth Campaign through the development & implementation of special fundraising events.
  • Attend all necessary trainings.
  • Responsible for developing relations of all key school personnel and families.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Care or related field,
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience and 3 years of child care experience.
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form, strong organizational skills, knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A valid driver’s license, Current First Aid and CPR Certifications are also requirements of this position.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00
