We are looking for a multi-talented candidate who is ready to balance their passion for working with kids and their desire to broaden their skill sets and work experience in the business of Finance and Human Resources.

Preferred start date between Aug 10 and Aug 20. We can be flexible for those committed to a summer camp position.

Areas of Responsibility: 

During the academic school year August through May, the program generalist will spend 18-20 hours a week as a Finance and Human Resources Assistant. You will tackle entry-level administrative functions which include, but are not limited to assisting with the daily movement of funds and information between all branches of our YMCA, file management, data entry, creation and distribution of staff uniforms and badges, scanning and copying. The individual who assumes this role must have a high level of integrity and honesty, along with the ability to keep information confidential at all times. This position requires a high attention to detail, accuracy and efficient time management skills. Strong customer service and communication skills are highly desirable.Position requires reliable transportation and an acceptable MVR. Driving your vehicle, between branches of our YMCA will be required.

Along with your finance and HR duties, you'll serve 20 hours per week as a role model to kids in our after-school programs. You'll become a mentor and guide as you help build a culture of fun and friendship in our before and after-school programs. During the summer and on school days off, program generalists work full-time in day camp leadership.

Educational Background: 
A four-year degree in a related field
OR 48 semester hours of college credit AND 960 hours of experience in a licensed program since turning 18
OR 5460 hours of experience working directly with school-age children with a group of 4 or more unrelated school age children.
Skills/Experience: 

Successful candidates will be hard-working, compassionate, mature problem solvers with an enthusiasm for customer service, learning new stuff, building relationships and being role models for kids and adults alike. Very successful candidates will show an unparalleled love for working at the Y and have the following credentials:

  • Be 21 years or older
  • Supply documentation of current certification or become certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Provide 3 written references.

Salary Range: $14-16/hr based on experience
