The Clark County Branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville is a 60,000 square foot facility, with an indoor aquatics center featuring three pools: family fun, lap / instructional, and warm water therapy pools serving approximately 2,500 membership units. Clark County Indiana is poised to experience growth after the completion of several major infrastructure products bringing more people into the community. We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, experienced aquatics leader that will be responsible for aquatic operations. The Sr. Aquatics Director oversees facilities, staff development, and programs.
- Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
- Establish strategic direction/vision foroperations of three indoor pools
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises aquatic staff including, lifeguards (approx. 25 part-time), swim instructors (approx. 10 part-time), First Aid/CPR instructors (approx. 3 part-time)
- Oversees development and delivery of quality aquatics programs including swim lessons (approx. 1,000 participants)
- Develop, manage and monitor department budget of approximately $75,000 revenue and $300,000 in expenses
- Maintains records and prepares reports regarding programs and operations as needed; ensures compliance with all state and county regulations
- Ensures excellent customer/member service and meet association standards
- Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign
- Participates in branch volunteer committees and advisory board. Develop promotions that recruit and develop aquatic participants
- Participates and provides leadership in association aquatics cabinet to ensure consistency and quality in aquatic programs and facilities
- Establish vision and systems that ensure safety across all aquatic endeavors; lead collaboratively to provide systems that achieve sanitary conditions, safe environments, program excellence, and member service excellence
- Current Lifeguarding Certification, which includes First Aid, CPR professional level, and Emergency
- Oxygen Administration (YMCA Lifeguarding preferred)
- 2 years continuous experience in lifeguarding and instructing swim lessons in a group environment
- Experience working with children and adults
- Experience supervising and training adults
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Pool filtration and maintenance experience preferred
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification preferred
- YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred
- 2-4 years of supervising minimum of 6 person staff team

STARTING SALARY: $44,000 + Commensurate with experience
