The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing and implementing high-quality YMCA programs at Camp Campbell - YMCA of Silicon Valley. This position assists the Program Director to implement programs while meeting community needs through safe and effective programs and services.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist with supervision to staff in the day-to-day operations of the group retreats, family camp programs, and summer camp programs. Major responsibilities will include weekly and daily supervision, scheduling for staff, supervising programming, and acting in the absence of the program directors.
- Collaborate with the Program Director, depending on individual weekend needs, in planning and carrying out pre-camp and in-service staff training.
- Manage staff schedule, timecards; administrative duties associated with the group programs
- Serve as a point of contact for staff when issues or questions arise.
- Assist in interviewing applicants
- Attend all required staff meetings, trainings, and branch events.
- Follow policies, procedures, guidelines, and tracking systems set forth by YMCA of the Redwoods.
- Work cooperatively with and support other departments.
- Cultivate relationships to support fundraising through the Annual Campaign.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience:
- One year experience in recreation management, sports management, physical education or equivalent
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people
- Experience as a staff member in a camp setting (programming experience preferred)
- Ropes Course certified (can be obtained upon hire)
- YMCA approved driver (can be obtained upon hire- requires clean driving record and passing drug test)
