The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the leadership of high-complexity cross functional projects and programs. This role will serve as a liaison between Y-USA departments and the Information Technology department in coordinating project activities, defining project scope, processes and methodologies to implement projects that will increase the efficiency of the organization. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the work of project managers and communicating their progress to senior management at regular intervals.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for all aspects of IT program/project management for several IT software implementation initiatives: scope, schedule, budget, resource, risks, issue management and quality controls.
  • Directs large-scale complex Programs and Projects from conception to completion and ensure alignment to the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Ensures delivery on time and within budget through applying scope management processes and techniques
  • Leads the evaluation of third-party software products to meet the business and technical requirements of Y-USA operations
  • Performs vendor management functions as applicable for assigned projects; manages to approve statements of work and issue resolution and management
  • Develops and clarifies project scope and requirements for Information Technology related projects to ensure Y-USA department needs are identified and communicated
  • Conducts regular reviews of issues, determines risks, and escalates to stakeholders and appropriate decision-makers for review and resolution.
  • Ensures that project team resources understand the functional requirements of the project based on approved scope.
  • Confers regularly with IT team members and project team throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects, acting as a liaison between the users and technical staff; tracks progress, identifies changes, ensures changes are communicated to all groups and ensures timely delivery to production
  • Analyzes current business processes and makes recommendations to optimize them and improve efficiency
  • Oversees functional regression and integration testing of new systems or enhancements prior to user acceptance testing. Oversees test case development, facilitation of acceptance testing
  • Provides project managers with feedback, encouragement and advice
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Information Systems or Technology is required. An MBA or a Master’s degree in a technical field is a plus.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 7-9 years of experience as a Project Manager, or Sr. Project Manager is required
  • 12+ years of previous work experience in software development, consulting or similar role is required
  • Proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven process.
  • General knowledge of business processes and the systems that support them - e.g. HR, Finance, CRM, Fundraising, etc. is required
  • Excellent analytical and planning, and organizational skills are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as demonstrated presentation, organizational, facilitation and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly, strong aptitude to translate business requirements into detailed specifications and technical verbiage into easily understood for business users’ language is required
  • Familiarity with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management methodology is required
  • Independent decision-making, good judgment and ability to execute multiple assignments at any given time is required
  • Must possess the ability to achieve consensus amongst a group; resolve conflict
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills are required
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00
