The Executive Director (ED), supporting the Greater New Jersey area, will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the chapter's staff, programs, growth, and delivery of the Association's mission. The ED will be an essential partner in the Association's strategic plan to support millions of people living with the disease and their families while accelerating research progress and change the trajectory of Alzheimer's disease.
The ED will build strong working relationships with all of the Association's administrative and functional leaders including the Senior Management Team. This leadership position will receive a foundation of support from the National Office located in Chicago, Illinois, and the Public Policy team in Washington, D.C.
The position will be located currently in Totowa, in Passaic County Northern New Jersey and will report to the Regional Leader.
- Serve as the senior leader and primary spokesperson for the chapter.
- Ensure ongoing local program and support group excellence, conduct program evaluation and maintain superior delivery.
- Expand revenue generation and fundraising activities to support existing program operations; use external relationships, including community leaders, to garner new opportunities.
- Lead volunteer recruitment to ensure appropriate resources are in place to achieve the chapter's goals and objectives are met and/or exceeded.
- Develop and maintain a high-impact Board of Community Leaders to have an outward interface with the Corporate, Social, Policy, Philanthropic and Medical communities within Greater New Jersey area. Lead the Board in contributing to efforts to impact fundraising, program delivery, securing of major and planned gifts, and raising the overall profile and brand visibility of the Alzheimer's Association in the community.
- Build and coach a staff of leaders to support the chapter's annual initiatives.
- Lead revenue opportunities including Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, third party events and other Association events.
- Oversee advocacy efforts through recruitment of advocates and ambassadors; Work in collaboration with neighboring chapters and other non-profit organizations to ensure city, State and Federal Public Policy initiatives benefit our constituents.
- Build relationships with local, State and Federal government as well as corporate partners and community organizations.
- Serve as the lead chapter staff for corporate relationships and development.
- Create and manage chapter budget, maintain financial records, and oversee daily office functions.
