Under the direction of the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable including maintenance of files related to these areas. (S)he is also responsible for insurance files and reporting.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for day to day general accounting functions in support of the Controller and CFO.
- Record cash receipts, program revenue, financial aid and fee transactions and data from sub-ledgers to general ledger consistent with internal controls.
- Review monthly billing and accounts receivable functions, monitor delinquencies and potential bad debt; reconcile A/R sub-ledger to general ledger.
- Manage data interface, including pledges and cash received, from BB Raiser’s Edge to Daxko Accounting.
- Assist Controller with monthly reconciliation of Raisers Edge Reports of fundraising revenue and receivables with Daxko Accounting.
- Manage accounts payable including data entry, review of invoices for accuracy, approvals and proper coding; reporting and analysis of expenses, reconciliation of A/P sub-ledger to general ledger.
- Prepares cash disbursements as needed within the limits of cash flow.
- Reconcile monthly activity of company credit card.
- Maintains complete and accurate files of all vendors and all accounts payable transactions.
- Record monthly journal entries as required
- Assist Controller with recording and analysis of Prepaid Expenses, Deferred Revenue and allocations.
- Assists with preparation for the annual audit.
- Maintains Association Services petty cash.
- Maintains insurance certificates, including input into Content Verse System.
- Maintains and submits Incident reports to Redwoods Insurance, including input into Content Verse System.
- Assists the CFO and Controller with day to day financial and business operations.
- Assist in the budget process including reporting and updating monthly forecasts.
- Attends trainings, seminars and meetings as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested and necessary.

Educational Background:
An Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of two years related experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
- DAXKO experience or work within a YMCA or another non-profit preferred.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software.
- Experience or knowledge of SMART Tuition and/or Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge a plus
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $42,000.00 - $47,000.00
