Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Director of Aquatic Instruction will maximize the development of programs to address the needs of members.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • These programs include, but are not limited to, preschool, youth, adult, adapted swim, private swim instruction and our Safety Around Water programming.  In addition, the incumbent will assist with summer camp programming and work in relation with the competitive swim program. 
  • The Director of Aquatic Instruction will ensure the aquatics experience is safe, fun and enjoyable for members and program participants. 
  • The Director of Aquatic Instruction will hire, train, schedule and supervise approximately 25 Swim Instructors.  Additionally, the Director of Aquatic Instruction is expected to work hands-on with aquatic programs when needed and fulfill general building director duties as assigned.  
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years or more of YMCA experience or related experience within another organization may be considered. 
  • Proven skills in staff leadership and supervision, safety and risk management, budget management and relationship building are needed to be successful in this position. 
  • Seeking a team player who is flexible with work schedule as evening and weekend coverage will be required. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.   
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $40,000.00
