Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA Aquatics programs.
Aquatics
- Receive and maintain necessary certifications (LGI, CPR, First Aid, CPO).
- Supervise and maintain high quality swim lessons and instructors.
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise the aquatics department staff. Conduct regular staff meetings.
- Schedule the pool facility for rentals.
- Operate community based swim lessons, Splash and 4th Grade swim.
- Provide leadership and support for YMCA Swim Team and Parent Booster program.
- Acts as the liaison for the High School Swim Team.
Pool Area Maintenance
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
- Order necessary pool chemicals and equipment to allow for proper operation of pool area.
- Coordinate necessary vendors to service maintenance issues.
Special Tasks
- Work as lead member of the staff team to assist with the development and implementation of special events.
- Assist with budget development and monitoring.
- Offer and teach certification classes as needed by our community.
- Supervise the operation of the TBall sport program.
This position requires 2 year degree or applicable experience. A Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent strongly preferred.
This person needs to have a good overall picture of YMCA philosophy and values.
The Aquatics Director will be part of a staff team at the YMCA and must possess a leadership style that is team-oriented. Recognizing that this individual may bring skills in areas other than aquatics, it will be desirable to utilize those skills through sharing of responsibilities with other professional staff.
