Under the supervision of the 21st Century Program-B3 Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating activities to support the implementation of a high quality after school educational program.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The person in this position will have communication both written and oral with parents, school leadership, staff at all levels, including teachers, paras, counselors, and other constituents. Working with Outlook, Word, Excel must be able to create well written documents, efficient mailings. 
  • The person is this position will coordinate program materials and help assure that the program will run safely and smoothly at 3 sites.  Will help coordinate trips, transportation, programs, license and grant requirements. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have experience in office administrative responsibilities.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher).
  • Ability to work under supervision.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stay alert to potential safety and security problems.
  • Ability to carry out instructions independently.
  • Ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds and be enthusiastic, courteous and friendly with children, parents and staff.
  • Skills in planning, organizing, systematizing, implementing are essential.
  • Must have proven skills in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to multi task and manage multiple projects in a time period.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Familiar with the culture and mission of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • Friendly and polite. Ability to negotiate and manage interactions with employees, coworkers, department heads, and vendors as needed.
  • Ability to be gracious with all persons of various ages, cultures, and creeds.
  • Ability to keep records organized and as applicable-confidential.

Experience:

  • Two years of related experience, preferable supporting school-based programs.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with PARS21 and Daxko preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $41,000.00
