This new Director-Level role is a critical member of our Senior Leadership team with responsibility to develop and execute growth strategies in the area of Membership Sales, Marketing, and Financial Development.
Critical to this role is the leadership and management of departmental staff to develop and motivate them to achieve results.
This role will also work with the CEO and Marketing Coordinator to lead the effort as brand advocate in the community.
This role will have very high expectations for driving growth for the organization—from financial standpoint, membership & participant standpoint, and from the mission standpoint for the impact we’re having on the lives of individuals, families, and the community.
Membership:
- Develop aggressive & creative strategies to drive growth in membership.
- Responsible to create a fun, engaging, and welcoming culture for everyone that comes in contact with the Y – whether entering our facility, calling on the phone, or through engagements in the community.
- Own total responsibility for the front desk membership-engagement team, for our overall customer service, and for how we present our image to everyone that we encounter.
- Recruits, hires, and trains, and directs staff and volunteers, and develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve results.
- Promotes cross-selling of programs, classes, memberships, and services to drive growth.
- Develop & implement creative strategies to encourage members to try new programs and become more involved with the Y as a committed member rather than just a casual participant.
- Foster a culture of extended family at the Y by focusing on individual engagement and building of small groups.
- Develop & execute creative activities & special events to drive member engagement and fun.
- Model behaviors consistent with our core values and mission.
- Manages departmental budget for all membership activities.
- Performs other duties as needed to drive growth.
Marketing:
- Develop strategic marketing plan to develop & expand the YMCA brand and drive growth in membership & programs.
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to develop an operational plan to execute the strategy.
- Manages departmental budget for all marketing activities.
- Build effective working relationships with service groups, community organizations, and businesses, and advocate for the Y and our mission at every opportunity.
- Work with staff, Board, & volunteers to organize Our Annual Meeting for the YMCA.
- Work with Marketing Coordinator to ensure Annual Reports are created in timely manner and communicate a compelling narrative highlighting our mission.
- Develop & execute creative activities & special events to drive member engagement and fun.
- Performs other duties as needed to drive growth.
Development:
- Work with CEO & other leadership to develop & refine the Y’s corporate partnership & sponsorship strategy, then develop relationships with community businesses to execute the strategy.
- Manage annual campaign strategy in collaboration with CEO, other staff, and volunteer leadership, to ensure plan is achieved and continued growth annually.
- Work with Business Office Coordinator to oversee data management & timely acknowledgement of all gifts, and manages prospect & donor correspondence.
- Develop & execute creative activities & special events to drive financial development and fun.
- Performs other duties as needed to drive growth.
- Very Strong relationship-driven personality with exceptional communication & interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to effectively build relationships with a very diverse population of individuals ranging from part-time staff & volunteers, to community leaders.
- Strong initiative required and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
- Proficient working with computers and utilization of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required (will be provided).
Salary: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00
