National Data Collection and Reporting is a critical initiative to augment YMCA’s impact to the communities they serve nationwide.  As a member of the YMCA of the USA Information Technology team, the Business Analyst will act as the key liaison between the business stakeholders and the technical delivery teams.  The Business Analyst will play a key role across many disciplines within the SDLC, including requirements gathering and documentation, design, and testing. 

This position directly impacts the achievement of major corporate goals, as they are responsible for completing pre-planned projects defined by our Leadership as well as unplanned projects that directly tie to our success as an organization.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist project managers and/or solutions architects in preparing business case and scope definition
  • Ensure that IT resources understand the functional requirements of the project based on approved scope, by working with project manager, solution architect and/or business stakeholders
  • Support and facilitate requirements gathering sessions via key stakeholders’ interviews.
  • Support the analytic needs by working closely with key business stakeholders to develop well defined reporting requests.
  • Produce timely and high-quality requirements and related work products, including requirement specifications, as well as process or data flows.
  • Support team on design and development of processes required to extract, transform, cleanse, and load the data into DW and data marts as necessary.
  • Create Quality Assurance plans and facilitate and execute system / functional testing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate business stakeholder engagement and User Acceptance Testing for business intelligence initiatives.
  • Support production staff & end-users during transition to maintenance.
Educational Background: 
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 to 7 year of professional experience as Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
  • Demonstrated experience in business intelligence or data analysis, used to handle large databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with and clear understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with prior experience in delivering business intelligence solutions.
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of Relational Database Management Systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder groups.
  • Good presentation, organizational, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minor supervision, possessing strong time management skills.
  • Strong critical / analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Prior experience in Microsoft reporting technologies (i.e. SSRS, Power BI etc.) is preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00
