We maintain and restore native wildlife habitat including a 5,000-year-old, peat-moss bog and upland forests. SHADOW's land is protected in perpetuity through strategic partnerships and conservation easement agreements. SHADOW offers ongoing and one-time opportunities in environmental education and recreation for groups of all ages. In addition to education, SHADOW works with volunteers of all ages towards maintaining resilient forests that provide viable habitat. Through important relationships with community partners, SHADOW engages and educates nearly 3,000 people every year. Over 1,000 are students from local and regional schools, who visit SHADOW for field trips and stewardship projects.
